Community Manager


See3 is looking for a dynamic and responsible freelancer to work with its team in delivering high-quality digital products, strategy, and consulting to its nonprofit client on a cohort-based professional development project to improve organizational storytelling.

  • Remote (with a preference for Washington, DC or Chicago, IL candidates)

Time Commitment

  • Total project hours, 200 hours.

  • Rate: $25 to $40/hour

  • This is a part-time, freelance opportunity; the community manager is expected to contribute between 10-15 hours/week for the duration of the project.

Role Type

  • Freelance contractor; if hired, community manager, will complete necessary paperwork to be compensated as an independent contractor and is responsible for invoicing See3 monthly.

  • Supporting the Senior Consultant and Content Strategist in the development and implementation of content to improve storytelling and messaging.

  • Attending online learning sessions with participants, hosting conversation through the chat, and acting as a resource to participants who require additional information or materials after sessions.

  • Maintaining relationships with project participants through defined communications channels to promote upcoming sessions, provide resources and answers, and encourage the sharing of project-related information.

  • Participating in weekly team meetings to provide updates on project participants, (sentiment shifts, questions, and trends, etc.) for the duration of the project.

  • Monitoring enrollment, attendance and participation during sessions and strategizing ways to scale learning opportunities and deeper ways for engagement on Workplace by Facebook for the duration of the program.

  • Being a brand evangelist surrounding the organization’s brand and reinforcing the main methodologies, the Hero's Journey and See3's approach to storytelling.

  • Using data from past projects to establish engagement baselines and proactively foster and encourage growth with project participants.

  • Helping drive audience growth/engagement and help define future process and innovation for use of Workplace by Facebook for professional development and cohort-based learning.

  • Providing support and insight to the project team from start to finish, particularly on aspects of project evaluations and analyses, participant sentiment, and preparing client-facing reports and updates.


  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an agency, nonprofit, or social cause organization.

  • Proven ability to manage engagement and correspondence for multiple channels, including email, social media, blog, newsletters, etc. for different audiences.

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication in a community setting.

  • Strong ability to execute review, assess and provide accurate responses in a timely manner for various audiences.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to prioritize, follow-up, and deliver client-facing solutions.

  • Experience in using Google apps (Drive, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.) in a professional environment.

  • Possess an understanding of the unique culture of nonprofits.

  • Enthusiasm about working effectively with ethnically and racially diverse populations.
